THE COMPANY

From our offices in Hamburg, Germany, we provide language services such as translation, adaptation and proofreading for direct and agency clients in the advertising and communications industry. No matter where in the world your audience is to be found, we can help you speak to them.

We’d be glad to help with any questions you have about spelling, language or style. You’d like someone to proofread an English annual report, you don’t want to have to typeset a Japanese catalogue yourself, or you need your presentation translated into Spanish ASAP? We’re there for you every step of the way, from initial planning right through to the final print- or Web-ready product. Ensuring your message gets to your customers on time  and in the most compelling form possible.

Götz Translations and Proofreading was founded by Markus Götz in May 2015. He’d previously spent 14 years building up relationships with advertising and marketing clients at another language service provider, many of whom came with him to the new agency. Götz Translations and Proofreading now works for over 500 clients, not just in Hamburg but in places as far flung as London, Berlin and Zurich.

We’d love to be able to include you among that number too.

All our translators and proofreaders are consummate professionals with whom we’ve been working for many years – individually hand-picked and assessed according to stringent quality criteria. Many of them previously worked or trained in-house at a translation or proofreading agency. They work exclusively into their native language and in their specialist area.

Automotive or finance, fashion or pharma – whatever the area, we have the perfect team for your project!

TRANSLATION

Do you know how Italian pensioners or Chinese top earners prefer to be addressed? What inspires and impels them? For advertising campaigns to work in other countries, they generally need to be adapted.

Question mark. Designates a sentence as a question. In Spanish, also appears at the start of the question, but inverted.

Need to communicate effectively across borders so you can do successful business in your target market? With their flair for advertising and keen understanding of how your customers think, our team of native speakers can help you to strike the right tone. Doing so requires curiosity and a passion for language and culture that no translation software or online app can replicate.

A professional adaptation by Götz Translations and Proofreading will ensure your campaign is just as compelling and successful in other countries too.

PROOFREADING

German comma rules, hyphenation differences between UK and US English, Chinese line break conventions: you don’t need to know all these things yourself.

We proofread your texts, checking orthography, grammar and punctuation against the latest editions of recognised style guides, while being sensitive to the fact that language is alive and constantly changing! We follow your specifications down to the letter: whether you want us to exclusively check spelling or would also like stylistic suggestions, whether you need us to check calendars or compare texts against a glossary or manuscript, or whatever else you might require.

Focus on your message. We’ll take care of the language.
